Swami Ram Dev, the exponent in yoga teaching, declares that there is a set of yoga exercises, capable of curing all ailments. These exercises increase the energy levels and contribute in eradicating the dreadful diseases that have made the lives of people quite miserable. Also, these exercises help to lose fat and if done on a regular basis can prove to be quite useful for mind and body as a whole.
Dharti ki Sanjivini encompasses a set of seven yoga breathing exercises (pranayama), which are listed as below:
Ø Bhastrika Pranyama. It is a deep breathing exercise, which should be done for at least 3 to 5 minutes.
Ø Kapalbhati Pranayama. It is a fast breathing exercise with forceful exhalation. It should be done for at least 5 to 10 minutes.
Ø Bahya Pranayama. It is an exercise that involves holding of breath with three bandhs. It should be practiced for at least 2 minutes.
Ø Anulom-Vilom. It is an alternate nostril breathing exercise that should be done for approximately 5 minutes.
Ø Bhramari Pranayama. It is a meditational breathing exercise. It should be done for at least 2 minutes.
Ø Udgeet Pranayama. It is a breathing exercise in which the word “Om” is recited regularly. It should be done for at least 5 times.
Ø Ujjayi Pranayama. It is a throat breathing exercise. It should be done in 3 to 11 times.
