Ram Dev sees Africa as a storehouse of solutions to world’s problems

Swami Ram Dev, the world famous yoga guru, believes that Africa can offer solutions to a wide variety of problems widespread in US and UK. In fact, he sees Africa as a potential solutions provider to the common problems among various nations and a resource pool to combat against exploitation. Ram Dev supported the views of some eminent leaders of Africa and requested South Africa to extend its helping hand to the other countries of the world so that these underdeveloped and developing nations also came at par to other developed countries in the domain of development. He is of the opinion that God has bestowed his blessings on Africa and gifted it with lots of natural beauty and biological resources. But the urge for development has prompted the foreign visitors to deplete it of its resources. So efforts should be made to encourage Africa to provide the other countries with its great supply of organic food resources.

Religious conversion faces criticism from Swami Ram Dev

Baba Ram Dev, the renowned yoga guru, has slammed religious conversion. He pledged to put in his best possible endeavors to promote brotherhood and unity among the citizens of the country and lay the foundation of a mentally and physically fit India by amalgamating the healthy yoga practices and ayurveda with the rich culture of the country. He vowed to provide six lakh villages with yoga education that will aim to remove the pain of the people. Baba Ram Dev declared at the yoga camp organized in Rourkela that the restrictions should be posed on the practice of inducing religious conversion in disguise of rendering social services. He criticized the killing of Lakshmananda Saraswati and gave a national call to maintain peace and harmony in the country. He openly said that no religion encourages violence and revealing his feeling of patriotism even declared that he is all set to set up Bharat Swabhiman Manch (BSM) that would aim to rebuild the national integrity and prosperity.

Baba Ram Dev has complied the basic aspects and practices of yoga tradition in his famous book “Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras”. In his work, he has comprehensively described about the origin of human sufferings through “Theory of Kleshas”. According to this book, the origin of human sufferings is Avidya, the first Klesa. It is a kind of ignorance that originates inside the soul of a human being. Second Klesa, Asmita, originates from this. Baba Ram Dev gives Tips to Pregnant Women

Baba Ram Dev has a treasure of valuable tips for pregnant women. He declares that a pregnant woman needs approximately 55, 000 calories to give birth to a healthy baby. He told that 1000 mg of calcium intake is necessary for avoiding the risk of high blood pressure and water should be a consumed several times a day for avoiding constipation. He attached great importance to iron intake and that intake of tea or coffee and meat should be reduced to minimum He advised pregnant women to consume leafy vegetables and fresh fruits as much as possible and hot lemon water with honey. In order to improve the digestive system in pregnant women, they should consume lots of fresh frit and vegetable juices. Dry fruits also form a significant part of the diet plan. These women should not do heavy physical exercises and avoid doing tough work as these physical exercises increase the chancces of miscarriage. They should instead practice meditation.

Baba Ram Dev, the renowned yoga guru, has made a call to the children and priests to step forward and save the holy river, Ganges. School children of Varanasi on Thursday shook their hands with children of the families of priests and wet to the banks of sacred river. Groups of volunteers from all the corners of India have decided to take out the rallies and submit the primary demands of ‘Ganga Raksha Manch.’ Swami Abhimukteshwaranand today declared that the crowd of Varanasi has taken out this march under the leadership of Baba Ram Dev. Religious practices and traditions of bathing in Ganga on festivals had made this river come in the grip of severe water pollution, which has given rise to a number of water-borne diseases. In addition, disposal of industrial and domestic sewage into the river has further worsened the situation. Ganga Action Plan that was launched in 1985 has proved to be a disaster as until now, only 39 percent of the target has been achieved.

Sadhu community along with Swami Ramdev has raised nationwide agitation for saving the sacred river Ganga. It is been demanded that Ganga should be declared as a national heritage and Save Ganga Authority should be set up by the central government. Ganga is already identified as a world heritage by the UNESCO. River is being polluted on a large scale on account of effluents from industries.

Swami Ramdev criticized Bush on his comments over Indians' food habits. He sighted the fact America has maximum numbers of obese people in the entire world. However Baba Ramdev agreed that if middle & upper class people starts eating less, the inflation rate will come down as poor aren't getting enough food. Because of the rise in income level of middle class Indians they have started eating more and are getting obese.

Ramdev Yoga : Patients preferring the Yoga path

Patients suffering from different diseases are taking refuge at Baba Ramdev clinic in Jharkhand. The clinic is getting an overwhelming response. Over 200 patients are visiting the centre for treatment on a given day. The patients suffering from various diseases like heart diseases, piles, arthritis, diabetes, kidney problems, cancer, blood pressure, thyroid and depression, comes to the centre. The centre claimed to have treated over 300 patients suffering from chronic diseases. A new yoga centre is also upcoming at Yogapith, which will offer free treatment to the patients.

Ramdev Guruji : Yoga is not symptomatic treatment like allopathy

“Yoga is not a symptomatic treatment like the allopathic method of treatment. Yoga is the systemic kind of treatment, which directly treats the eight system (Ashta Chakra) of the human body,” said Yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Speaking to the reporters in Hubli on Tuesday, Swami Ramdev said that any kind of imbalance in the functioning of body system would result in diseases. But yoga corrects reproductive, excretory, digestive, respiratory, nervous, skeletal, circulatory and endocrine system of the body, and keeps one away from diseases.

Swami Ramdev - A Biography

Swami Ramdev was born in 1965 as Ramkishan Yadav in Alipur, Mahendragarh district of Indian state of Haryana. He attended school through the 8th grade in Shahjadpur. Thereafter, he joined a yogic monastery (gurukul) in Khanpur village to study Sanskrit and Yoga. Eventually, he renounced worldly life and entered into Sanyas (monastic living) - taking the name Swami Ramdev. Then he went to Jind district and joined the Kalva gurukul and later imparted free Yoga training to villagers across Haryana. It is said that he travelled the Himalayas for several years before he settled in Haridwar. He discovered several medicinal plants in the Himalayas which he uses in treating his patients. Swami Ramdev started relentless efforts to popularise Yoga in 1995 with the establishment of Divya Yoga Mandir Trust, along with Acharya Karamveer and Acharya Balkrishna.
