Swami Ram Dev against Yoga Patenting

Baba Ram Dev has always been against yoga being patented abroad. According to him, yoga has been an age-old practice in India and no one has got the right to patent it overseas.
Baba Ram Dev has been delivering his strict words against America, the country that wishes to patent yoga. Baba Ram Dev has been appealing to Indian government and yoga organizations all over India to protest and take steps against this. He feels that yoga is not like a machine that can be run by a company and moreover, it’s our possession, our belonging that we, Indians, just cannot hand over to any foreigner just like that.
Ram Dev also criticizes Indian government for having a cold attitude towards ayurveda. He is of the opinion that approximately 10 percent of Indian population is suffering from diabetes so they seek help of yoga and ayurveda. These two techniques can easily help these patients to recuperate and recover.

Swami Ramdev accepts IMA challenge to cure Cancer patients

Popular yoga guru Ramdev has accepted the Indian Medical Association's (IMA) challenge to cure cancer patients and allow clinical trials of his treatment within three years. 'I have already cured hundreds of patients and presented the medical records of 35 of them to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS),' Ramdev told a panel of IMA members during an interaction organized by the Nagpur Union of Working Journalists here Sunday. The interaction was held after the yoga guru Saturday called for a face-to-face discussion with IMA president-elect Ashok Adhaoo in response to the latter's challenge to him a day earlier to cure a representative sample of cancer patients in Maharashtra's Nagpur town, about 850 km from state capital Mumbai.
